Advice please - my cat's personality has changed

Hello All, hope you're all well? Just wondered for a bit of advice please as I am a very inexperienced (but very much in love) cat owner who is a bit worried>

We rescued our Tortie Izzy a couple of years ago, and she has always been super confident and friendly and will always sit next to us on the sofa in the evenings and whilst does go outside, has always typically been found dozing around the house.

Recently, I have noticed the fur around her neck feels quite bumpy and she's taken to spending pretty much all her time outside. She eats and drinks but is a very different cat - a lot more stand offish and I'm a bit worried?

I have booked to take her to the vets tomorrow for a check up but don't know if I am being OTT?

Any advice? Thank you in advance, and here's a photo of my Izzy for reference :)

Vet sounds like a good move. I hope that it is nothing serious.

She's beautiful, and good luck at the vets!

Usually a change in personality is down to either pain or general ill health but it has been warmer than usual these past few months so maybe she's just loving the freshness of outdoors. Definitely get the bumps checked out though.

We had similar a while back! Turned out the bumps were an allergic dermatitis from something outside which was making her itchy and miserable. She soon perked up with treatment but sadly the allergy only got worse over time so she's now a happy indoor cat. Absolutely a good idea to get checked, you're doing the right thing!
