Was told at the vets my beautiful 8 year siamese most likely has an injection site sarcoma, I am devastated! Waiting on biopsy results but the vet said the chord like extension from the mass makes a cust less likely. Anyone had any experience of this including how long their cat survived. Please see a pic of my beautiful boy :-(

So sorry you’ve received this diagnosis. Do you have insurance?

Your best course of action is to seek treatment from a specialist referral veterinary practice. They will be much better placed to expertly excise the sarcoma than your usual vet. With a skilled surgeon and a dose of good luck this type of surgery can be curative.

The surgery is invasive and cats seem disproportionately affected in their recovery - perhaps because they are left with a scruffing sensation until the skin stretches. However as animals usually do, they bounce back remarkably well.

Our cat survived 18 months until we tragically lost him to a totally unrelated cancer. We were told if he reached the 2 year mark he would have been considered out the woods.
