The cheapest cat food is often storing up problems for later on, they have little nutritional value, added grains etc. You might be better off with a high quality dry food with a little wet for moisture if budget is the concern.

Cheapest tins that are actually meat not filler used to be Animonda Carny, not sure if it still is.

For cheap but good you need to look away from supermarkets to online retailers like Zooplus or Bitiba.

Butchers. It's surprisingly decent quality for the price but the cat version often isn't available in supermarkets.

My cats seem fine on tins of Aldi cat food. Occasionally they don't have them and then they have pouches but they prefer the tins. 2 cats share a tin in the morning and another in the evening. They have crunchies lunch time but despite trying 4 types they don't seem very keen on them and prefer to s of meat. Once a week they have Tina in spring water and Sundays or whenever I roast they share a large chicken breast between them.
