Not exciting but.. cat litter

Can anyone recommend a good clumping cat litter that is reasonably priced? I normally get the Wilkos one but obviously this won’t be available from now on. Sanicat is good but quite expensive. Would appreciate thoughts. TIA

We settled on Tigerino Nuggies clumping cat litter for our pair of cats (usually ordered from Zooplus)

WetBandits · 12/09/2023 10:40

Best I’ve ever used!

One box lasts me two months, I have three cats.

I use Intersand, which is not cheap but it lasts for ages.

andrainwillmaketheflowersgrow · 12/09/2023 11:38

Greenwoods.

It lasts ages and we have three indoor male cats.

Laurama91 · 12/09/2023 13:21

Also use the asda essentials one

Asda's Just Essentials one is the best we've found - extra bonus is it's very cheap.

I bought that in an emergency…the trays were flooded with wee and stinking by the end of the day! 😅

Flev · 12/09/2023 15:23

@WetBandits i only have one cat, so maybe that's why it works for us - or maybe he just doesn't wee much? 🤷 There is generally someone home in the daytime as well, so we probably scoop following individual wees.

Vancat. £50 worth for five indoor cats. Last about 7-8 weeks. Doesn’t smell. Initial set up is expensive as it does need to be deep, but then can just be topped up after removal/sieving of the waste.
Good value Imo.

Downside is the heavy bags being delivered by dpd..

MonumentalLentil · 12/09/2023 21:04

Depending on how sensitive their paws are, Greenwoods is OK but is very crunchy and not wood based.
If you can manage the initial cost of a big bag of Worlds Best, it lasts quite well but is fine and a bit messy. I don't like it because it is corn and made my cat itchy but most cats don't have a problem with it.
OKO plus Cats Best lasts me ages,
I don't know how the prices compare though, but some of the Wilkos are going to stay I thought?

I use ( well my cat uses ) bio kitty , I have only ever bought the unscented one.
1 cat , 2x litter trays .
It has to be deep so I buy 2 bags when I am fling a complete change , one to fill , one to top up.

Occasionally there is a £5 money off coupon in the bag , but you have to buy directly from them ( not amazon) so factor in the delivery cost.

The bags are very heavy and the 'handle' is three holes in the top of the bag, there is no way you can the handle to carry the bag , it would cut your fingers off !
So mine gets delivered.

I can't remember the name , but the blue stuff is good. From Tesco. I didn't like the grey/off white clumping stuff-it was nasty.

LuellaPilkington · 12/09/2023 21:51

Everclean! I get one box monthly on subscribe and save from Amazon. Two cats.

ameliapond · 12/09/2023 22:00

I have one tray filled with tigerino Canada and one with golden grey litters from zooplus. I use the underbed storage boxes as litter trays, and three quarters of a bag of litter in each, topping up when needed.

I have three cats now and that combo lasts around 6weeks, the golden grey is better than the tigerino but the tigerino is slightly cheaper

I used to have 6 cats and that combo before used to last 3 weeks, and worked out way cheaper than all the litters you can buy in store. I had to resort to supermarket or pets at home a few times, and after a few days, the litter had to be completely changed.

adamsmallbone · 14/09/2023 15:08

Thanks all, I actually picked up a large bag from Lidl for £2.19! I will try your suggestions as well though 😊 we only have one cat but she seems to wee quite a lot!

This one is really good. It clumps really well and doesn't smell at all. Another bonus is my dog doesn't eat it like she does World Best Cat Litter in the red bag

This. I've tried a lot of litters and Intersand is by far the best and lasts for ages.
