She was fine this morning. When I got home she was in and out of the litter tray about four times. Got up to go to bed and find spots of blood on the floor. Of course the vets had closed . Ten minutes before! Fortunately had some metacam. She perked up while on the phone to the advice line. Spoke to a second nurse at the OOH vet, who said I've already done everything they'd suggest and she does not need to be seen tonight. Problem is that I'm
On a 12 hour shift tomorrow. And now my parents have moved. There is no one who can check on her.

She is eating and drinking and has passed urine.

Poking and prodding me as usual during the night. Having a good groom, which has reassured me. Seems almost back to normal. Slightly blood stained wee in the litter tray. But none on the floor.

My previous cat used to get this. I used to get tuna, pour water on the tuna, pour the water off the tuna so that its fishy water and she would drink that.

Repeat several times a day using the same tuna so that she is flushing her kidneys out

Aww, I hope she is OK.

felinelucky · 12/09/2023 07:05

Poor girl! Hope it clears up completely soon.

Do you give her Cystease and bladder health supplements?

Our 3yo boy gets them everyday as he was prone to cystitis - since we started him on both we haven't had another reoccurrence.

Toddlerteaplease · 12/09/2023 07:37

No, she's never had it before. I've put extra water out in a cup and she's drinking that. Given her wet food that she usually doesn't eat and she's eaten the jelly. My lovely manager is happy for me to run home at lunchtime to check on her. Will speak to the vet this morning.

Bless her, I hope she's ok

Allergictoironing · 12/09/2023 08:38

Probably related to her working out you're planning on getting another cat!😼

Seriously though, she could be stressed at being an only cat & missing Snorg. One off attacks are just that, one offs, so as long as you can dose her up for a couple of days she should be fine. Seems like it's improving already 😃

Toddlerteaplease · 12/09/2023 12:16

@Allergictoironing I really think it's because she's lonely. She's never been an only. And I was out most of the weekend. I've bought my car to work to run home at much to check on her. But don't think I'll be able to park again if I leave! Vets appointment tonight.

Cleaner said she was walking around the house. And I'm sure she would have said if there was blood anywhere.

Just got back from work and Cheddar is back to her usual self and demanding to be picked up. She's booked in at the vet in Half an hour. So ill still take her.

Hope she gets on OK at the vet.

Toddlerteaplease · 12/09/2023 21:34

Vet thought she might have a tiny stone. But was really not sure. Said it could also have been a bit of trapped wind in her colon. (Suspect the latter, ass she's not had a poo today and had just eaten a lot!
They will see her next week. And to have two weeks loxicom.

Just wondering how Cheddar is doing?

Toddlerteaplease · 17/09/2023 09:13

She's fine, she'd pretty much recovered by the time we went to the vet. She's meant to be on two weeks of loxicom, but she was sick at 2am two nights running. So I've stopped it to de if that was the cause. Back for a check up tomorrow.

Ah hope the sickness has sorted itself out. Good to hear she’s on the mend.

Toddlerteaplease · 21/09/2023 08:13

She's fine. Though had rip roaring conjunctivitis. I told the vet the first. Time we went that her eyes were gunky! It's always dismissed as normal Persian gunk. Pushed the second time and she's got drops.
