Cement poisoning in cats

I recently lost my cat. When I tracked her down (she wore an AirTag) she was very unwell, vet suggested she may have consumed bleach, but on further thought cement was suggested by someone as it's highly caustic (and there is a building site very nearby) - has anyone seen this in a cat? As at the moment I am at a loss to understand how she was so badly poisoned. Unfortunately it was so bad she has been put to sleep and I am left devastated. I have name changed for this.

Oh she's beautiful.So tragic.
I too have never heard about the concrete.
Hope you will be ok in due course 💐

Thanks - I miss her terribly she was a really beautiful cat. I think it was cement powder or wet cement that she then licked off her paws, it is highly caustic apparently.

Oh you poor thing. She was beautiful. Are any neighbours having work done? Could it be someone putting down a new path?

Sorry for late reply - yes there is a building site 3 gardens over
