Cat Wedding Photos

Hello fellow servants of floofness.
I'm getting married in 2 months and we'd both like some photos with the cat, at home before we leave for the wedding venue. Problem is, she's skittish and tends to hide immediately when there are strangers in the house!
Although recently, some friends of ours managed to tempt her out with treats.

Does anybody have any ideas as to how to get her in the vicinity? I don't think she's going to sit quietly on my lap but if it was, say, me patting her head, or I don't know, sitting next to her.

If cat friendly venues existed and she wasn't shy she'd definitely be a ring bearer! 😍

Chicken, or photoshop.

Lick-e-Lix and Dreamies are your friends here.
Do you need official portraits or d'you think you could get a friend to snap a load of more informal shots and get your actual photographer to work magic with them?

Came here really hoping for some photos of a cat wedding. I’ll get my coat.

I would rather have 'official' portraits but only if that's possible. After all she's a living being not my photo prop.
Photo editing is a good idea, I'll ask!

I thought of maybe spraying some Feliway, it does seem to relax her.

Catnip?

She doesn't really like chicken strangely!
But I agree that food would be a good way to tempt her. She does love treats.
She doesn't like noise but will come if you sit quietly. That takes a couple of hours though and we definitely won't be able to pull that off!

Well then they shouldn't be so bloody cute then should they 😂

(Still trying to get my lad to agree to having a nose-boop captured for all eternity. He's not having it.)

Catnip?

It doesn't seem to have any effect on her - she shows no extra interest in those catnip-filled toys

Awww haha definitely!
I've got soooo many photos of her nothing else in my phone camera.
Boops are so hard! We do have a couple on our catcam but it's low resolution so can't really see the cuteness ;(

Won't that put cat fur on your wedding dress and suit?

WandaWonder · 05/09/2023 04:52

There may be a cat-alogue of some somewhere

WouldYouLikeYourMuffinButtered · 05/09/2023 04:55

I too wanted it to be a cat wedding.

I'm going to be honest and say this just sounds stressful for you both and the cat. It's a lot of pressure on a stressful day. I have 3 kids (and 2 cats) and getting the kids to comply with wedding photos was hard enough.

Can you do the cat pics another day? Or take pics the next day of the cat sniffing the bouquet. Or sitting in the shoe box etc etc.... more natural cat stuff where cat isn't stressed by strangers in the house.

Our wedding album is a mix of the professional pics and our photos. At the beginning is a photo of the kids 2 favourite teddies dressed for the wedding. One had a matching dress to my daughter one had a tux - we aren't mad.....promise. It means a lot to me.....but it was just a snap from a phone.... (yes teddies were at the actual wedding too!) If we'd had the cats then they would very.much be in the album too!

Have a great day.

I have a lot of free time while the BM's are getting their makeup done.. a good two hours at least so not going to be rushed.
I want photos of the cat that makes it feel like part of the wedding, phone snaps on 'ordinary' days aren't going to cut it. Especially as I've hired an expensive professional photographer I want my money's worth.

If it's going to be difficult to get the cat what I could do is take photos of her in a way that makes it easy to edit in, and on the wedding day we just pose, sans cat, and get the photographer to put her in. It's easier because all the prep's happening at home!
