Cat safe slug killer for in kitchen

I've got the revolting problem of slugs coming into my kitchen. I have blocked up some access points but can't reach them all.

Any ideas of how I can kill them, without harming my cat? I've seen those traps you can put beer in but am a bit worried the cat would try drinking it. Same with putting salt down, I don't want her eating the salt. The downstairs is open plan so I can't block off just the kitchen overnight for when the slugs come in.

Can you get someone in to block up the holes? Or copper tape everything

It's difficult as the laminate doesn't go right to the edges and there is a damp proof lining that sticks up at the sides, and they are very far back under kitchen cupboards.

Copper tape is a good idea, I'll have a look at that.

Most slug baits are fine these days now that metaldehyde had been withdrawn.

The standard iron/ferric phosphate pellets are virtually harmless to humans and animals as they get broken down to simply iron and phosphate, which are essential nutrients.

They can cause a bit if a stomach upset if eaten in bulk, so let's just hope your cat isn't a numpty.

Thanks, good to know!

DH became obsessed with the slugs that were accessing our kitchen but seems to have eliminated them with an anti-bac kitchen spray (regular cheap supermarket one). He sprayed along all the possible entry points each evening and it seems to have really put them off.

Oh good that's definitely do-able. Thank you.
