Cat leaving marks - what are they?

Adopted 22 month old cat. He's neutered. I use frontline plus on him. He uses his litter tray. I keep finding these marks on my furniture. Any ideas?

Dirty paws/bum maybe

Is it possible that he is dribbling a bit after he has peed in his litter tray ?

Does he have weepy eyes? One of our cats has always had some discharge from her eyes and she can leave brownish stains wherever she sleeps. She is 13 and has seen a multitude of vets over the years and none have ever been concerned about it. It is a bit annoying though when she has been on a freshly made bed or a pile of clean washing!

Anal glands maybe?

Eyes. My Persians do it.

@ADessertOrAMeringue it's the food that makes their eyes go brown. My cat is very sensitive and when on the wrong food. It gets worse. Chafed her diet and the brown has completely cleared up.

That's a good point actually, we've changed her food a while back to a better quality cat food and I think her eyes are less weepy than they were.

I could always tel when Cheddar was building up to her monthly 4 vomits in 2 days. As she'd be really brown.

It could be kidney problems. A trip to the vet
