Cat show

My DD9 is obsessed with cats and I've recently discovered our local cat society has a show (I'm assuming a feline version of Crufts) coming up soon.

Has anyone been to one that can tell me what to expect - as a visitor rather than an exhibitor.

You walk up and down and look at the cats in their pens. That's about it. I used to go to the big national one, at the NEC. There might be things to buy. The Supreme Show last year wasn't worth the trip last year, so probably won't go this year but I used to be a good day out.

It was really small last year. With hardly any retail opportunities. They have moved it to a new venue. Which I did prefer though. Not sure I'll bother this year.

@JamMakingWannaBe you don't get to touch the cats or get very close at all. Some owners are happy to chat about their cat, some not.

I appreciate my cat wouldn't necessarily want to be cuddled/stroked by strangers.
I'm tempted to go... and then report back.
(We need Clare Balding and a cats agility class and a cat "lifesaver" award.)

I have only been to one at NEC and loved it.My cat is only a moggy, but it was great to see all the show cats.
I spent a fortune on cat brushes blankets food etc.I was fine until I saw an empty cage with a photo of a cat on the cage door.
It said "In tribute to our gorgeous Suki, she was due to be here but died in a house fire last week"
I was in bits😿.
This was years ago, so I don't know what they are like now

Oh it was purpleme12.
I was in tears, had to go for a coffee to try and calm down.It was a shock, especially the words and photo of a beautiful Siamese chocolate point cat.
