Cat sore paw

Cat has a small mark on the pad of his foreleg paw. I don't know what it is, he is outdoors a lot and the garden next to me is a jungle full of brambles and stuff, so I'm guessing maybe a thorn has cut it. We can't see or feel anything in it though.

Before going to the vet which I will next week if no improvement, any advice? He is still jumping, and walking on it though occasionally lifting it as though it's tender. Eating and sleeping and doesn't seem miserable. Doesn't seem unduly bothered when paw is handled. No swelling. What is safe to put on it to keep it clean (I realise cat's paws are by their very nature going to get deeply unclean.) Iodine? Bandage?

My cat recently had an abscess, and the vet gave us Hibiscrub, so maybe something like that.Perhaps ring to check first though in case he licks it off.I know nothing about it though, just saying what they gave me.

I'll look into that, it seems to be healing okay anyway, still no swelling and happily going out and about. Thx.
