Not sure if I should be concerned about this patch which I’ve noticed for some time but it seems to be getting bigger.

I’ve never see her scratching the area and she doesn’t seem distressed by it.

Mine is the same, as is my siblings cat. It does show up more in the summer when they’ve been shedding.
My previous cat was super furry and didn’t have this so I thought it was an issue when I got this cat but the vet said it’s fine.

That’s interesting. Wonder why it’s just one area affected.

My cat had this, it was earmites. Scratching at her ear finished with a swipe down the face. Treated the earmites and the fur returned.

I looked earmites up and can’t see that my cat has symptoms- excessive scratching, shaking head or inflamed ear.
she’s due check up soon so will get it looked at.

My tabby cat has similar, on the back of her head and neck. So can’t be over grooming. I came on to see if anyone else had this too. Doesn’t seem to have any other skin issues but there is a small scratch on one of the patches. Did you find out what it was?

Maggiethecat · 10/09/2023 23:31

I’m afraid I haven’t. She has her vet visit coming up and will ask them
to look at it.
hope your tabby isn’t too affected by it.

Good luck! Hope it gets resolved

If it's not ear mites it is the time of year for Harvest mites. My neighbour's cat gets patches every September.

You can get a spot on that covers mites and various other things, I can't remember which one I used but it stopped her scratching her head (until today so think she has them too).
