Catio

Has anyone built a catio? Preferably on a budget or somehow secured their garden. My indoor due to medical conditions cat loves the outside but will try and get out of the garden the second he goes outside.

We have a small temporary one basically built like an avery off the side of the house. Couple of carpeted angled shelves. A nice chair and blanket, tree branch on a wall. Grown some cat friendly plants up one wide and got a plant pot with mesh in there to grow cat nip too.

We had an amazing one, all cobbled together. Cat flap from downstairs bathroom window, walkway up and over the shed roof (with a sink planted with cat safe grass and herbs), walkway down to ground and into summer house via cat flap.

A mixture of repurposed chicken coops, decking boards, and a modular pet run from Amazon. If you put any ramps in don't forget to put steps for them to grip onto !

My parents have an Omlette one, while they are living with my sister. The cat hates it!

This is ours. Bought flat packed from ebay. My indoor cats spend most of the day in it.

We cat-roofed our garden using this from E Bay. Was quite easy to do - watched my H do it!

We did the same as @MrsFiddle. I didn't want a catio as our garden is very narrow and it would have made it look like a prison so this was the better option for us. DH did ours and it worked out a lot cheaper than getting a company in.

The only thing I would say is make sure the holes in the netting are big enough to allow bumble bees through. The first net we used wasn't so DH had to change it.
