Sold to us as female.... however I'm pretty sure it's a boy... I've googled and seen the images to try an determine. I'm pretty sure there's 2,little balls there. It doesn't matter but might warrant a name change!! How can I be sure please?

Thank you ok. I'm going to start referring to them as he!

He's booked in for second jabs on 4th September. So will ask the vet just to confirm! I'm not sure when they will allow neutering. He's only 1 kilo. He's lost a little bit because he didn't ear fir a couple of days and was having diarrhea. Seems OK now after a vet visit so think it was a mix of stress in a new home and we didn't know what food he was on prior to us so a new diet too.

It's a boy. Very cute too!

iloveeverykindofcat · 22/08/2023 05:59

I'm 90% sure that's a boy. We had the same thing with my first cat, but luckily we'd named him 'Sammy' so it was just a change from Samantha to Samuel!

We also had a guinea pig who went from 'Lady' to Laddy' when I was a child. Laddy went on to live for 9 years, have a large harem of wives and father half the guinea pig population of the city. He was huge, very tame, social, intelligent, and had a single crown on his head, like a king.

I think it’s a boy too! Had the same situation with one of my kitties. We kept the name which was a bit girly but it suited him.

Holidaystress11 · 22/08/2023 07:56

Aww thanks all. Think we will keep his name. He's starting to respond to it and it's gender neutral really.

Amazing. The kingpin guinea pig! 🤣

While I'm here. Can anyone recommend some good litter please. .. we tried non clumping and it was horrible. So now we have clumping which is an improvement and it is scented saniflo and its a very sickly smell and wafts about. Also he tracks litter everywhere.

Can anyone recommend a clumping litter that masks smells and doesn't track? If it exists!

Cats best or worlds best are natural clumping litters. The cats best smart pellets track less than the oko plus version. They look expensive but you don't need to change them as often.

I sometimes used to mix them with a clay clumping litter so you needed to use less of the more expensive stuff.

Zooplus is good if you want to try a variety of litters. Also good for food and accessories

We use Greenwoods which is excellent IMO - no smell, it clumps really well and it's natural too. It's very easy to clean too. We buy it in bulk from ZooPlus - we have three cats and buy 60l at a time for £35 - it lasts us 3-4 months ish.
