2 'gifts' in 30 minutes

Been in bed with a migraine all day with Dr Tonks by my side looking after me. Just starting to perk up so she's brought me a mouse to complete my treatment. Swiftly followed by another one 20 minutes later 🐭

I daren't fall asleep just in case my prescription is for 3 mice! Can't lock the cat flap as big boy cat is out in the rain. How can I persuade her I'm all better?!

Well, we're on mouse number 3 (she must have found a nest) but this one was clearly not for me - I got growled at when I tried to remove it, so I've shooed her out with her prize.

Fingers crossed that is it for the night ...

12.30 and in came mouse number 4 - is she going for a world record??

And this is why I don't have a cat

it's a busy time of year !
Mine are bringing me frogs of all things.
Maybe because I'm on my own their hoping I meet my Prince charming !
I am back and forth to the nearby woods returning them.

Mice are fast as fuck so she’s a very clever girl.

One of my cats brought me a mouse when I was in labour with my first child and very close to going to hospital/giving birth. This was rather problematic because DH is very much not the mouse catcher in our household (he hates mice and spiders, so I'm the official mouse and spider catcher) and I genuinely thought I was going to have to try to catch it while in the middle of intense contractions... thankfully DH rose to the occasion! 🤣

Thankfully she stopped at 4 and just came in with hundreds of grass seeds stuck to her instead!

I love that cats know when we're not 100% (whether it's ill or in labour ). I imagine them sighing deeply, heaving themselves up, muttering darkly about useless humans and heading out to provide for us!

I have had stern words about a full nights sleep tonight though...
