Does pine pellet litter really help with cats & IBS?

I have a Persian chinchilla who's two and has always had on off bouts of loose stool and occasionally very hard stool, but more often loose that goes all over her legs (she's trimmed).

Tried dietary changes , the latest is to put her on a hypoallergenic food diet (looks awful , soya protein, vegetable oils and rice in dry food) but can't see this working long term.

Tried probiotics. Someone mentioned changing to wood pellets as opposed to clumping litter .

Do you know if this could help with her digestion?
Any suggestions gratefully received

I imagine they mean it helps deal with the mess, I don’t see how it would affect her actual digestion -unless she eats the clay/licks the dust off paws & that’s causing the issue?
It’s my preference for our cats, far better than little gritty bits everywhere, it’s so easy to clean up.

Thank you

I feel your pain, long haired Persians and loose poo are not a good mix. I use
Intersand classic clumping litter. And it made it much easier to clear up. (In the tray)
That and keeping the hair short is the only thing I can suggest.

Can we have a pic of said cat? Persians are a rarity on the Litter tray!

Thanks Toddlerteaplease. I've got a good clumping litter but I wondered if the chemicals in clumping contribute to digestive problems. She does lick her paws a lot.
