Flea and worm subscription

Just that really.
I have been taking my two cats to the vets for treatment but they hate it. Each time I book an appointment it's as if they know and disappear!

Can anyone recommend a monthly subscription service? I'm getting stressed out just thinking about taking them!

Does your vet not do a subscription? Why do you have to take them in, is it not just a quick spot on?

For £18/month we get a three monthly worming and flea treatment, free claw clipping, free microchip, all vaccinations, and discounted neutering.

Ours do a cheaper monthly treatment, and a tablet option as well.

Thanks for your reply.

The cats get absolutely frantic and hiss and spit ( that's if I can get them in the cat carrier) and have bitten the vet a couple of times. I don't think it's fair on the vet ( or me) to end up looking like we've been in a knife fight.

They're due now, so the vet won't prescribe without seeing them.

I ended up going online to buy flea and worming treatment. My old boy would poo his cat carrier as he was so stressed. I begged the vet to just let me buy the flea treatment but they told me it was a legal requirement and that they had examine the cat every six months before prescribing.
I had hoped there would be a compromise for the oldies but unfortunately not.

We do ours online. Just so much easier. Use vetbox

Ours only have to see the vet once a year and get monthly spot ons (nexgard) on prescription. No need to see the vet if the weight is stable. We pay £14.50 per month for flea&wormer, annual vaccination and health check and and mid year claws, weight checks etc.

You won't be able to get prescription strength medication online without your cat having seen a vet first. They have to see the cats to make sure they're fit and well and to check their weight before they can prescribe anything.

That said, ours only have to see the vet once a year to get a prescription for flea and worm treatment which lasts twelve months. We just collect from the vets when they ring.

Our vet only needs ro see them once a year for a check up and annual boosters. I can then order and pick up the flea treatment/worm treatment when required without the vet needing to see them again
