How much do you pay for annual vaccinations?

I’m just curious, trying to work out if the health care plan at my vets is worth it next year. I suspect it’s a rip off.

We have 2 kittens from Cats Protection, they have come fully vaccinated so boosters aren’t for another year so not joining the vets health club yet. But it’s £17.99 per cat per month and I doubt that it saves anything at that price (it used to be £15).

It includes wormers and flea treatments as well as annual jabs but I can get the flea and wormer online for very little so the vaccinations must be a lot!

My local vets is a large tier 3 vet hospital- but although the facilities are amazing I think the regular care is pricey and I am
considering registering at a second vet for the routine stuff!

I've been having the same dilemma. But the flea and worker costs more than the monthly fee. I was not impressed to discover that the two free consultations my vet offered are not included anymore.

I paid the one off 99 quid for 2 checkups and boosters each year for life.

The spot ons are seperate though.

Are the flea and wormers you can buy online as effective as the ones from the vet?

I took out the £15.99 per month plan because my cat was having dental treatment and got the same amount off his bill as the plan would cost over a year.

He had his 6 monthly check up and I was so unimpressed, it was by a young girl (an animal care consultant, not a vet nurse) who basically weighed him and wasn't able to answer any questions. I'll be canceling the monthly plan as soon as the year contract is up.

Yours would cost £216 per year per cat, I definitely don't think it is worth it just for routine care. I seem to remember paying around £60 for a vaccine and check up before we had the plan.

I think that’s ridiculous. I’ve paid a one off £120 for vaccinations for life, and flea and worming treatments work out at a couple of pounds a month.

And a free annual health check is included in the vaccinations for life package

I've worked in low cost clinics that charge £20 for boosters and other that charge £60.

Those £100 for life type deals aren't easy to get any more as the clinic does tend to lose money from them.

I pay £12.50 a month. Vaccines, flea and worm, 10% off consulations. Think it was 10% off microchip and castration. 6 monthly check up. 10% off long term medication.

£54 a year for vaccinations here, and that includes a general appointment and quick check-up too. They weigh them, check their teeth and heart, listen to their breathing etc.

I get a prescription for worm/flea treatment and buy online.

£50 for our boosters this year - I’m sure last year it was £40. Per pp we get teeth, weight and a general look over at the same time.

We cancelled the healthy pets club last year and asked for a cost for vaccinations. We were quoted £65 by a few different places

Vaccination appointment is £45 per cat and I have 2 cats.

They get weighed, heart listened to, general check over. The vet has a quick look at their teeth and gums, eyes and ears.

I get asked about their diets, litter tray habits and if I have any concerns and they have a treat on the exam table before going back into the carriers. They love the vet, the only part they don't like is going in the car.

Flea and wormer are given monthly on the first of the month. Tablets on the new quarter and spot ons the other months. Neither have had fleas or worms.

I spend about £100 per year on flea and worm treatment for both cats.
