..................... Rainbow Bridge today. 😥🐈Tig was an old lady and I had taken her to the vet on Friday as she was unable to walk properly. She was 20 years old and no longer very active and her claws were very long and she seemed to be in pain. The vet trimmed her claws, examined her and said he could feel a suspicious lump in her abdomen and said her joints were very stiff. But he agreed with me when I said I didn't want to put her through anything unnecessary. He gave her pain relief medicines which which made her a bit dopey and stagger around a little but she was still eating, drinking and loving a fuss and cuddle and nibbling on little pieces of chicken.
But this morning she took a turn for the worse and we made the heart breaking decision to have her put to sleep. She is now under one of her usual spots in the garden where she can snooze to her hearts content. Miss the daft Mog so much. She was the softest cat with the loudest miaow. Run free puss!!

So sorry for your loss - old cats are so wonderful. My Annie is 20 (and counting) and I am dreading the day when I have to so the same for her X

It hurts so much doesn't it. I've got 2 cats buried in my garden in their favourite spots. I sprinkled a packet of forget-me-not seeds and they look lovely. Not that my dear little cats would ever be forgotten. You did all you could and your cat had a happy life and wasn't in pain for long. That's all you can do.

@VeryQuaintIrene Thank you - we were grateful to have her so long and you never want to let them go. Cherish Annie and give her lots of cuddles x

@caringcarer

It is sad when they go - we had another cat which was a stray/rescue. When he stayed with us we had him chipped and done - but he had no road sense and was run over a few weeks later. But Tig was here with us for so long - they still leave a cat shaped hole. x
