Katkin

I recently subscribed, and DCat is happy.

She'd tried almost everything the local supermarkets had to offer, but out of the 2 brands she would actually eat, there were major supply issues (including if I ordered online, so it was obviously a National supply issue). Prices had also increased, while reducing the number of cans inside.

It does bother me that Katkin food a) looks like brown sludge, whatever the flavour; and b) is in plastic.

I do like the convenience of delivery, and that all the food she needs is in one package. Also, this works out apx the same as the food I was buying from the supermarket/Amazon. I cannot pay more - if food goes up too much I'll have to consider rehoming, which wouldn't be easy for her (antisocial).

I saw a previous thread today (from April this year), with lots of complaints about Katkin as they'd changed the food.

Currently, we're OK with Katkin, but I would like to know of reliable alternatives a) that don't look like sludge; and b) won't need me to remortgage/sell a body part.

Not Blink (gave Dcat v.upset tum).

DCat has been on Katkin for over a year, since he was a kitten, so we experienced the drama that was the switch from the old style pouches to the trays of sludge.

Long story short, they now offer both, so if you don't like the sludge trays I'd suggest you try some of the pouches, which are much chunkier and meatier. To my surprise, DCat is actually rather partial to both the trays and the pouches, and (judging by the litter box) he seems equally healthy with either.

Harry looked at me in utter disgust when I tried him on Katkin. He was the fussiest cat I've ever met though! He did however quite like Natures Menu at one point.

Mine had a sample of Katkin but wouldn't reliably eat it long term as they don't like wet food. And it is just too expensive.
