So sad

Our elderly (16) boy had been losing weight for a while even after being on renal diet food. On Sunday evening he came home after being out all day but wouldn't eat or drink anything. His breathing was very slow (10 breaths per minute). We'd decided to take him to the vet the following morning but stupidly left the cat flap unlocked for our other two. I don't know why we didn't keep him in a room but by the morning he'd gone and haven't seen him since. I'm pretty sure he's gone somewhere to die and him coming home on Sunday was him saying goodbye 😥. I've been out several times since then calling him and looking under bushes but can't find him. I'm just so very sad that we didn't get to be with him at the end.

I’m so sorry. He is obviously so well loved and has had a long and happy life with you, it must be so difficult not to have him with you to say goodbye. So sorry Flowers

I’m so sorry. It’s so hard to lose them, they’re a huge part of our lives. I’ve lost a few over the years and my heart broke every time. Try to remember his wonderful life with you - sadly there are so many cats who never know love and a happy home xx

I'm so sorry! Have you tried putting his photo on social media, local sites, cat rescue pages? Someone may find him xx

@Canthave2manycats yes have done all that plus posters but no news. I'm resigning myself to the fact that he's gone and this is the way he wanted to go.
