If kitten pulls out stitches after 8 days will it be ok?

My kitten was spayed last Wednesday, she was given a soft blue collar with a draw string toggle to tighten it. At first she was ok but as the days have gone on she recently started to try and get it off. Today I thought she got it off for the first time until my partner said she sometimes gets it off in the night too and he puts it back on. I didn't realise this!

It hasn't been a problem because I have been WFH the whole week and have kept my eye on her. I do take the cone off to give her breaks but every time, she pulls on her stitches.

I am in the office tomorrow and will have to leave her alone all day. I'm now worrying that she's going to get the cone off and pull the stitches out. I'm stressing out that I'll get home to find her covered in blood and the wound open or something. After 8 days would it be ok now?? If she were to pull them out it won't re open the wound right? Or will it be a trip to the vets tomorrow night and starting the healing process from scratch? She is due to have them out on Saturday as they are external

Have a look at them. If you feel they are opening, take her to the vet. My cat pulled her own stitches out when she was a kitten but I can’t remember when she did it. It was before she should have done though. Vet just gave her an antibiotic injection and said she’s ok

My cat pulled hers out on the third day. I took her back to the vets who said she was healing well and left her alone. She was fine

Only a vet or vet nurse who has actually looked at the wound can really tell you. Give your vets a ring and get her checked.

After eight days I would expect her to be absolutely fine to be honest, it should be well healed up by then.
