Possible Hyperthyroidism

Taking my lovely cat for blood tests later (£190!) to check for hyperthyroidism among st other things. She has lost weight, is ravenous and has diarrhoea.
Does anyone have a cat on medication for this? If so could you give me an idea of cost please? I'm very worried about the ongoing costs. Or anyone with success with diet controlled? Thanks in advance.

Oh, I hope your cat is OK ❤️ one of mine was diagnosed in December 2021, she rapidly lost weight, had a racing pulse and it seemed so sudden. But she's been on felimazole ever since and is doing brilliantly. Meds are £63 a month, I am insured for her so get this back now.
She takes her tablets really well now, she's in a routine with them. It was a bit tricky at first but she's fine now.

Thank you! I feel that is manageable so will panic less now! You have really helped me.

On Thyronym liquid medication here. 100ml bottle costs £80 and lasts 3 months+. Cats love the taste of it and take it really easily with the syringe in the mouth. More blood tests at the start though just to check it's working and then tests every 6 - 12 months. Only been on it 10 months and 3 blood tests in that time. It's a relief to know a cat feels better instantly and the weight gain was fast too.
