I had my spirit animal put to sleep this evening. I don't know how to go on without that beloved cat

Start by recognising the stages of grief. Feel sad, cry a lot, think about your puss and how s/he is now at peace and content. You did it for the benefit of your cat. Then start remembering the happy times, the funny times. Get through one day at a time - then slowly the days turn into weeks and you're on your way. It will take time but you will come out the other side.
