Trusted House Sitters - anyone used?

Has anyone used this site?

Going away for our honeymoon in a month's time and OH friend who had long been given the dates and agreed to them has let us down and pulled out (I'm not impressed)

Both are house cats and wouldn't cope in a cattery

I am absolutely paranoid about who takes care of my ragdoll in particular as she's my absolute world and I'd be absolutely devastated if anything happened to her

No one I know is available/have their own pets and children so unable to help out it feels like this is our only option but I'm worried about getting a bad apple, who doesn't understand the requirements around house cats (e.g. not leaving windows open even if hot!!)

I feel I'm not going to be able to relax as I'll be worried 😭 but there's no other option!

I've used the cat on a flap app. Their are loads of sitters round me as it's a stub Dg area. I chose a lovely lady. And I made sure she visited first, to see how she was with the cats. And to check I was happy to have her in the house. She absolutely adored the cats and spent ages with them. I wanted her for this weekend, but she could t do it but suggested her friend, so I did the sane thing and it's been fine.
To be honest. I much prefer mine to be in the cattery. But not with. It for one night. I thought my two wouldn't cope with the cattery. But they love it there!

I have used THS and, when it works, it's great. However, you aren't guaranteed a sitter and given your need, I would just find a paid sitter. I've used Pawshake previously to find a paid sitter, had a young guy who was great. (I had an elderly house rabbit on meds & needing extra care, plus other unusual pets, so there was a lot for him to learn.)

My DD used Trusted housesitters earlier on this year and had a great experience.

I've booked one for our summer holiday, so 🤞it all works out for us too.

We’ve been members for a number of years and it always works out great, but we do live in a place that’s very popular with sitters so we can very much pick and choose someone with good experience and we always do a Zoom call first. Might be a bit more difficult finding a sitter if you’re in an unpopular or non-touristy place. I think you can pay for a higher level of subscription which guarantees they’ll find someone for you, but I’ve never needed that. Because TH is a more expensive service it tends to attract older and more reliable sitters, I find.

I use Trusted Housesitters regularly and it's always been great. Lots of lovely people who look after my cat and leave my flat spotless.

I've used them it worked out well. Had a zoom call with her first and then booked her.

Two weeks was too long to have someone just call in so a house sitter was the only option I was comfortable with for the cat. She would hate to be alone for so long. I was nervous about leaving my house and cat to a stranger but just trusted it would be ok.

There are all sorts of cattery's. I found a cat hotel for my Maine coon. I really didn't want her to go into a cattery but it was amazing. It's very small the owner clearly adores cats, asks all sorts of questions about your cat, she was happy to keep to the same routine, she also understood how I felt about leaving my girl and sent photos and updates whilst I was away.

I recently had to put her in a different cattery and honestly it was awful but, I had no choice.
I think the best cattery's get booked up early. Maybe enquire about a sitter. For me I just felt she was safer with 24 hour care.
My girl is off for another hotel stay and honestly I was so pleased they had a space for her. Good luck it can be stressful.

I used to house- / cat-sit with them. Enjoyed it hugely and never got paid a penny.

Anyone used them for dogs and had a positive experience?
