When to feed the cat?

I am feeding a neighbour's cat.
I fed it just before 9am this morning: pouch of wet food, topped up the dry food and changed the water.
I am out this evening so can either feed shortly before 5pm or around 10pm. 10pm would be better for me, but what will the cat think?

When I go in, there is always water and dry food, he just gobbles up the wet food straight away. The cat is a good size and is inside and out.

WWYD?
Thanks

Feed for 5pm. 10 is too late.

What would the neighbours prefer?

Mine would prefer 5pm but all cats are different.

Ah yes - normally I would ask, but I am taking care of the cat to give him one thing less to worry about right now (if you get my drift).

Feed at 5pm. If the cat wants a late supper, 10pm is a good time to pop out mousing - cats naturally hunt at dusk, they’re crepuscular.
Or you could give a small top up of dry food as a pre bed treat.

Fair enough - I would go for 5pm with enough dry food down for overnight - if the cat can go in/out freely it can always go out hunting!

Thanks cat lovers.
I'll go in at 5pm and feed him properly and then go and check at 10pm.

Pampered feline!

I also need to work out his outside tap and hose set up so I can water the plants, but that's not for this thread and I'm sure it can't be that hard!
