Please show me your cat flap.. Want to get one installed but we have solid wooden Nordan doors, is this do-able? If not can you put them in glass? I have patio doors I could put one in

Depends on the patio doors really ... we took a pane out of the side of the conservatory and replaced it with a PVC panel - a window company did that for us and put the cat flap in.

You can get cat flaps put in double glazing units but it has to be done at manufacture so you''l need to replace the whole unit. https://petflapsuk.com/installation/double-glazing/#:~:text=A%20cat%20flap%20cannot%20be,into%20the%20new%20sealed%20unit.

We've also just cut a hole in a wooden door and put one in ....but NOrdan doors look quite sturdy.

People sometimes put them through walls too.

As far as I know, it's fairly straightforward to fit a cat flap in a wooden door. Perhaps Nordan could advise? I seem to think glass is doable, but not as simple as cutting a hole in the glass. I believe that a new panel has to be made, with the cat flap inserted before installation. We have a cat flap in an internal wooden door, and in a UPVC external door, so no direct experience of glass.

Pretty easy to fit one in wood doors - fitting into double glazing is a pain and window companies don't particularly like doing it I found

Up to you how much you spend - there are £200 ones that you can see via an app on your phone who is going in and out

I couldn't justify the expense so just went for a cheap £15 in/out one as I my kids have a habit of knocking the 4 way control one I have an accidentally locking them in/out and then the micro chip ones you have to hold your cat next to it so it can register them 😂 didn't feel like having my arms shredded and also if the tech fails when I'm away I was worried about

Cheap in/out been great

DH is shocking at DIY and fitted one to our wooden back door with only a minor level of huffing and swearing.

The rescue where we got our cats has details and prices for a Cat Flat Man, who IIRC lists options for all sorts of door and window types. Might be worth contacting your local place for a recommendation?
