Overnight curfew?

Do you keep your cat in at night or are they free to come and go as they please?
If staying in, what are your curfew times?
(at present cat wants to go out at 5am!)

We just left then at flap open.

The cat flap

No cat flap, so DCat needs to be in when I’m ready for my bed. She is good at coming in when whistled though.

DCat potters around in the early morning but has learnt that doors aren’t open before 8 am.

Cat flap. Before I got it I hated the constant door opening and closing. Now easy peasy!

I've got a cat flap but I lock it overnight, I can set a timer to unlock it. He wants out at 5 and I think that's too early for the poor birds!

We locked in between dusk and dawn to reduce gifts and the chance of RTA. Current crew are indoors with a small catio as we can't cat proof the garden sadly.

They are shut away downstairs overnight and after 3 weeks of complaints they accepted it was "big sleep" time and now ask to be put to bed and not a peep until breakfast at 7ish.

CP advised rescue cat to remain indoors from dusk and overnight as the incidents of traffic deaths shot up alarmingly once dark.

We used to lock her in for evening meal and not let her out until just after 9am due to horrendous school and work traffic nearby. She soon settled into the routine and most of the time refused to get off the bed overnight, lazy girl😂

If yours is attempting a 5am breakout could you persuade him to stay in with some biscuits?
