Cat emerging from shed everyday

For the last 2 week there has been a black and white smallish cat come out of our shed (door always slightly ajar), i've watched it from the kitchen window wander around the garden a bit, stretch, have a lay down then go back into the shed, i've kept watching for a while and it stays in there. Today i was sat out in the garden when it's come out of the shed again, it doesn't look to have a collar and was quite shy. I offered it some food and water, it scoffed the food and pottered around for a bit but didn't come close to me. Could it be homeless and living in my shed? How would i know it were homeless?

I would speak to a local rescue and ask them to trap it. I'm currently on antibiotics after getting bitten by a cat I tried to befriend and I'm an experienced cat owner good (or so I thought) at reading cat body language.

Males are a bit lazy like that. 6ft, huge epic distance when you know the humans going to come and get you.

Yep, sums him up pretty well Grin

So, i've put a picture and description of cat on local lost and found, not had anyone come forward as yet. He/she has still been around, came for a stroke today but still quite anxious when there's a quick movement or loud noise. Here's a picture of kitty ...

Aww beautiful, looks quite young too

SparklingLime · 22/06/2023 19:52

Gorgeous. A teenager and no obvious signs of neglect/life as a stray.

coffeecupsandwaxmelts · 22/06/2023 20:00

Gorgeous! Looks very young but healthy - doesn't look like a stray/feral.

coffeecupsandwaxmelts · 22/06/2023 20:06

OP, whereabouts in the country are you?

I've just had a closer look at the photos and this cat is the spitting image of one I used to look after and who was recently re-homed.

SparklingLime · 22/06/2023 20:08

OP, you really do need to get him/her scanned for a chip. Vet, local rescue or Scanner charity I linked to before. This cat has had a recent home and will likely be terribly missed by someone.

JazzyBBG · 22/06/2023 20:08

Looks young bless him, could have got lost.

popgoesperfection · 22/06/2023 20:32

@SparklingLime i have contacted a local rescue and asked them to come and scan him/her

Tbf, rescues are absolutely overwhelmed at the moment. And will be until more people neuter their cats. @Mia184
