Methods for keeping cats in a garden

We’re moving to a rental soon, it has a massive garden where the cats will roam around but I’m worried about the wall/boundary at the bottom. The garden is on a hill so the drop down onto the road is quite big and I’m worried if they jump down they won’t be able to get back up the wall and it’s a medium busy road.

ive seen products like this one below but do they work? There is one in a communal garden we use and my cat pays no attention to it at all but it just makes a clicking sound, perhaps it isn’t set up correctly. Any suggestions? I’ve seen double side tape suggested/

That's to keep cats away from your garden, it won't keep them contained within it.

You'd need to cat-proof but I suspect you wont be allowed to do that in a rental property.
