Cat is missing

On Thursday afternoon my neighbours started doing some renovation work on their house. This really upset my cat, who started growling and hid under the sofa. The noise next door stopped at 6pm. At 10pm when I went to bed he was still agitated.

Friday morning he wasn’t in. He’s almost always in the same spot every morning but he wasn’t there. Work continued all day and he never showed up. Same story on Saturday. It’s now Sunday and he’s still not home. There has been no work today (we live somewhere where doing DIY is a big no-no on Sundays and public holidays). So tomorrow will also be quiet.

I’m quite sure that he is hiding somewhere feeling scared. I’ve been out calling him and shaking the biscuit tin.

I’m worried that if he doesn’t come home tomorrow, the noise will start again on Tuesday and he’ll just never come home.

How long can a cat survive without water? It’s been quite warm here the past days.

I‘ve had a cat go missing for a few days before and in the end I found out she had been run over. This is bringing back a lot of painful memories 😔

That's amazing! I'm so happy for you that he's returned!

Createausernsme · 03/06/2023 21:10

He’s very hungry and skinny and covered in mud so who knows where he has been!

Poor thing. I wonder if he got trapped somewhere? One of mine got stuck under a neighbour's floorboards when he was having some work done.

I'm so happy that he's home. I'm sure that he's very happy to see you again(And his food bowl)

So happy for you!

So happy to read this! You must be so relieved.

GiraffeDoor · 03/06/2023 21:34

I'm so glad to hear this! One of mine went missing for just 48 hrs last week (but she's never missed a single meal before, so I was extremely worried) but that feeling when they walk back through the door is just the best.

Createausernsme · 03/06/2023 21:35

I am so happy! He is really hungry and desperate for cuddles. I wish he could tell me where he has been!

Mine wolfed two whole sachets of food, then slept like a log for almost 12 hours (on my bed all night I may add, which is normally a hard no!)

Theunamedcat · 04/06/2023 00:04

Thats fantastic news I'm so glad!

ItsNotRocketSalad · 04/06/2023 00:53

Oh I'm so happy! I've been checking in a few times a day to see if there's any news.

I think they like to keep us on our toes and make sure we don't forget how much we love them.

Swissmrs · 04/06/2023 08:12

Hurray! I am so happy to hear that!

YoSof · 04/06/2023 20:29

Brilliant news, I'm so pleased for you!!!!!

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 04/06/2023 21:08

I’m really happy for you, I’d love to know where they go too! He must’ve been trapped somewhere to be hungry like that.
