Cat food woes

My old boy is being increasingly fussy. It's starting to cost a fortune in various brands of cat food. I've just boiled some chicken for him following a brief hunger strike. Not ideal as he needs to take his Metacam with food. He's wolfed down the chicken.

Starting to think about making my own cat food. Is this feasible? I know cats need extra supplements, can these be bought and added to cooked meats? Has anyone made their own and have any experiences to share?

Thanks in advance!

You can buy taurine to add to food. It’s essential for cats. I don’t know what else they would need though.

Watching with interest. Hadn’t considered making my own, but my cat is also very fickle with his food!

There's a supplement called felini, and a few w others that will make it complete
Or raw food such as Purrform which is complete anyway
Feringa went down well with my cat, or you could try toppers like salmon oil, nutritional yeast or specific cat food sprinkles
Or mixing raw food with standard wet

I knew about taurine, but unsure of anything else. Will continue to Google. Sort of hoping there's an all-in-one paste or something.

It's so disheartening! Just when I think I've cracked it, he's over the new brand within a week or so. There's been occasions where he'll literally turn up his nose and not even attempt it.

This is a complete one that's basically chicken and broth
