Leaving kitten alone

Hi! Bit of a worrier here. We got our kitten when she was 8 weeks old, she is now 15 weeks and has never spent more than 6 hours alone. I work from home twice a week, and during my three days in the office a family member comes and spends time with her.

I am only going to be in the office one day this week but my sitter has just cancelled as she can't make it. I am now worrying about her! Usually she is fine when left for the 6 hours, I come home and she is sleeping. But I will be out for 11 hours tomorrow. I have another cat but they don't get on yet so I have to keep them separate. One will have to be upstairs and the other downstairs. Unless older cat wants to stay out, and then kitten will have access to all rooms apart from two (as these two aren't really safe for her alone but the others are kitten proofed).

All I want really here is reassurance that she will be ok for this length of time as a one off? Eventually as she gets older I will have to leave her for this amount of time three days a week, but by then she will hopefully have my other cat for company as well as outdoor access. For now, as a one off she's going to be ok right? I feel really cruel but I don't know what else to do at such short notice. She will have food, water, two litter trays, all her toys scattered around. I'm worried about her being bored or lonely. Do other people leave their cats alone at this age while at work?

I'd say she'll be OK. It's likely she'll be asleep for half of that time, anyway. Keep her confined to one room, so there's less chance of any mishaps.

Aww she'll be absolutely fine! I agree that it may be better if she is confined to one room with her food/water/tray/toys/bed.

I hope your two get along soon!

She'll be absolutely fine.

Leave a radio on.

She'll be fine! Leave a few toys around and some kind of familiar cat bed or other sleeping space.
