Is it possible to recover a scratching post?

Dkitty has a great scratching post about 25cm across, so big enough to perch on and use as a stepping off point to climb on furniture. Hmm
The sisal is now worn all the way around and new similar ones are at least £45-£50. My local dobbies has one for £90!!!
Would it be daft to try and recover it?

You can get the sisal rope to recover, I’ve seen it on Amazon and eBay, but it must also be available elsewhere.

My cat managed to have her rope slide down so I unwound it and stuck it back on with a cheap hot glue gun last year, it’s only just started to need replacing now as it’s shredded. It took me HOURS though and it was only a small section on a cat tree.

Definitely have a go at recovering it! A big one may take time to cover with rope. I re-did a small post with rope bought online, but considered using a matching carpet off cut. Just make sure it's recovered with something they like to scratch.
