Meet Pete

It's seven weeks tomorrow since we lost my little Harry Puss and, after a lot of soul searching and a few false starts we have been approved to adopt Pete and we collect him next Saturday. He's following in big paws but he can do it!

This is the picture from his advert online. We're not sure if he'll remain as Pete but we can't think of anything else at the moment.

I wondered if that's where you saw me @AllTheOtherCats! It was originally Keith that we were planning to adopt and I feel awful that we didn't as he's gorgeous but Pete's battered little face caught my eye. We spent nearly a week deciding which one to adopt as there was so little between them. In the end I said to DH to say the first name that came into his head and we'd adopt that one!

Aw, he looks like he's been in the wars. How lucky he's got a wonderful new home to look forward to.

SallyWD · 22/05/2023 14:56

Lovely! I'm sure he'll be very happy with you.

QuickDuck · 22/05/2023 14:59

So sorry you lost Harry.
I hope Pete helps heal your hearts. He’s lovely, I can’t see why you fell for him.

greencardigangirl · 22/05/2023 15:17

He's a lovely looking chap

AllTheOtherCats · 22/05/2023 15:35

Yes, Keith looks so sweet too and in his little videos. He'll get snapped up soon I reckon. It's so hard isn't it? You want them all. Such a fantastic rescue who go above and beyond and so many beautiful cats all needing homes. Chuffed for Pete and you though x

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 22/05/2023 15:48

I hope Keith gets a home soon, he's gorgeous. DH and I discussed whether we could take them both (if allowed) but we really don't have the space - if they were a bonded pair it might be different but it would be hard to separate them here if necessary. We'd also thought about Nancy Drew and Marshall but they were a bit younger than we were looking for.

The rescue have been so patient with us and gone into a lot of detail about the cats so we had all the information to make what is hopefully the right decision.

Nancy Drew and Marshall are lovely. Young mother and son. She's got gorgeous markings. I wish I could have a houseful of them I honestly do but there has to be a limit and you can only do what you can do. From what I've seen of your posts on here and how adored Harry was and still is, Pete is a very lucky kitty indeed !

musixa · 22/05/2023 18:53

Pete is beautiful - I love his pensive expression.

Florissante · 22/05/2023 19:14

I'm so glad you're giving Pete a forever home.

letthemalldoone · 22/05/2023 19:19

That's the best thing you could have done! We lost our old guy last year and 8 weeks later I got two more! They all have their own special place in your heart.

Enjoy Pete! (I did hear of a cat called Nigel a while ago and I thought it was brilliant!) x

SquaresandStarlings · 22/05/2023 21:46

He looks like such a lovely soul - welcome 'Pete'!

HonorHiding · 23/05/2023 10:02

Awww Pete! His ship has finally come in! How lovely. Enjoy getting to know your new boy.

Mumsgirls · 23/05/2023 22:02

I love it when a cat who has had a hard time gets a lovely home.
That’s why I would only get a mog. So many needy cats out there. Well done on giving him a chance of a happy life

Pudmyboy · 25/05/2023 13:25

Congratulations, to you and to Pete!
Please post a pic when he has settled in 😻

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 25/05/2023 13:41

I will do. He's following on where Harry left off - he was at the vets yesterday as he's managed to scratch himself quite badly between the shoulder blades. His foster mum has no idea how he did it and he's absolutely fine but he now has a shaved patch and a course of steroid cream!

He's lovely and has such a sweet face.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 27/05/2023 20:36

Hi Pink, have you collected Pete yet?

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 28/05/2023 09:19

Pete arrived yesterday. He was as good as gold on the journey home despite over 3 hours in a carrier. He hid when we got home but soon came out when I dished up his food! By the evening he was sitting on DH's lap so he's settling in pretty well!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 28/05/2023 09:32

Absolutely love the 'I will take up as much of the sofa as I possibly can' pose 😹
Many congrats Pink and Pete.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 28/05/2023 10:12

What a beautiful boy :)

Pixiedust1234 · 28/05/2023 11:05

Looks like he's in charge of the sofa and the money. Please tell me he wasn't on top of the remote control as well 😂

We will be needing many photos over the next few days, he's a beautiful boy 😍

Showerroomlove · 28/05/2023 11:15

Oh, he’s lording it already 😀 Definitely knows he’s fallen on his feet!

(And Pete is a great name for a cat who’s known the streets).
