Hi all,

Due to use flea prevention on my new cat soon and wondering what you all use and how effective it is? Is it worth going to the vet to get vet strength treatment? How do prescriptions normally work?thanks

Get some from the vet. The ones you can buy otc aren't effective on every cat/flea.
Even vets change the ones they dispense when resistance becomes an issue.
I have felisecto for 2 of mine and nexguard combo for the other 2. Nexguard is a wormer as well but is a large quantity of liquid to administer. I can only use it on my very cooperative cats.

We pay monthly at the vet for flea and wormers. With him being a kitten they weigh and decide whats best

Mine get stronghold plus monthly from the vet

Definitely got though the vet. Not frontline though. We use advantage.

Use Advantage on ours , as far as I know it’s the only one that you can buy online without a prescription that actually works . You can get it from the vets too , but more expensive that way at ours .
