DCat was diagnosed with a ‘mass’ on her abdomen area a few weeks ago. She’s around 15 and has hyperthyroidism (controlled).
On Monday she became very withdrawn, hiding, not wanting to be touched, and rapidly licking herself and scratching and licking her lips. This continued until Wednesday when her pupils became dilated, she appeared very anxious/confused and was running all over the house. She then started urinating and pooing on the beds and couches.
Her poo has been normal and she hasn’t appeared in pain when urinating.
She has peed on the beds before however she only did this when DP was away with work and she was distressed (she’s a very emotional clingy cat)
She also vomited at the weekend past and it looked exactly like her cat litter. Vet confirmed she was likely eating it so we changed the litter.
We took her to the vet yesterday expecting her to be PTS however she had massively perked up and was in good spirits, almost back to her usual self. The vet was surprised as we had told him what was going on. He felt her all over and she showed no pain or discomfort. He said the mass is perhaps marginally bigger but he wasn’t certain. He gave her an antibiotic injection in case she has an infection.
She woke me up last night meowing and was back to the anxious dilated eyes. This morning seems more back to normal.
The vet himself has said he is perplexed, and we are both confused. I’m even querying a reaction to the litter??
