I would be up and finding those snacks immediately! irresistible!

Ohyoudodoyou · 04/05/2023 18:42

I have a dog but this makes me want a cat too!

Mine stretches up against the cabinets meowing whenever I go to the fridge. even if it's a vegetable she begs for it like a starving urchin.

On the odd occasion I've given her some and she looks at it with a mix of disgust and betrayal, like I've tricked her and I'm hiding the "real" goodies on the worktop with me.

No matter how soundly asleep ours are, as soon as someone walks into the kitchen they're underfoot, mewling piteously and telling us they've never been fed in their lives. We're horrible, neglectful cat slaves and they want us to ring the ISPCA and report ourselves to them immediately.

When I put Haribo's food in his bowl he turns his head around wwith a look that says "is that it?"

Toddlerteaplease · 04/05/2023 20:37

I get completely ganged up on every time I go into the kitchen.

Puddy comes running when she hears ham being chopped. The rest of the time she has a slight limp but races about if food is involved.

"Resistance is futile"

😂

Toddlerteaplease · 04/05/2023 23:17

@Pixiedust1234 it really is, especially when she gives me the big eye/s.

Mine has worked out that if she bumps my hand from below I drop more food in her bowl ...

One of mine loves butter so much that the sound of the toaster being out on summons her immediately in case somebody can be taken in by her starving sob story... she is also a food thief, frequently swiping anything left unattended... once napping a waffle from DD and legging it... that is why she's borderline overweight: not the food we give her but the food she steals!

Toddlerteaplease · 05/05/2023 11:50

When I first got Cheddar, she would literally stick her face near my plate. Eating unmolested was impossible. Now she has a look and retires upstairs if I'm not eating something she would like.

Girl cat has an automatic feeder which opens in response to her microchip. She is a grazer so we put food in once a day, but after the initial inspection and sampling of food she will walk away. Then when she returns she has forgotten there is still food in it - till we show her. Then it's 'oh THAT food. I didn't see that!!!'

I weigh his food as he's a fattypuff so that's what he gets for that meal. He does sometimes try the nudge but he obviously fails to get more.

DidyouNO · 05/05/2023 12:01

I've just caught one of ours devouring a pickled onion monster munch. There are no limits!!

Toddlerteaplease · 05/05/2023 12:30

Cheddar really likes bread and pasta. But I suspect she's wheat/ grain intolerant so she doesn't get it anymore.
