I have a 18 year old ginger girl.
She kept having recurring uti's, so I was advised by the vet, to get the urine tested, so they kept her in to get a sterile sample, to look under the microscope. They did this, and it was full of bacteria, so they sent it to the lab, to grow a culture.

This was sucessful, and it was found she needed a longer course of antibiotics, which should sort the ıssue out.

Told to bring her back in two weeks to get another sample to check under the microscope that the urine was now clear.
That was yesterday, they got the sample and changed me 163.00
I queried this and was told it's the same test as last time, but I don't understand why it has to go back to the lab again, they have already done that.
I am waiting for a call back from the care team.

Has anyone had experience of this?
Thank you

It needs to go back to the lab so they can check whether all the bacteria is fully gone. Just looking under a microscope can't tell them everything either way e.g. cloudy urine may mean infection, or it may mean high protein levels, and clear urine will indicate things are getting better but not be positive that it's all gone completely
