Help- washing up liquid on cat's fur

Yesterday my lovely kitten managed to get washing up liquid all on her fur, I dealt with it by getting it off with a tea towel as best I could.

She's now off her food and very down in the dumps.

I know I should have washed it off with water in hindsight but it didn't seem like that much at the time and the kittens hate baths- Help! I feel terrible
How bad is it?

I called our vet this morning who said washing up liquid is non-toxic but she's probably got a tummy ache now, and she'll be ok soon, but to call them back if I think she needs to go in.

Thing is we need to travel tomorrow and it will be her first time being looked after by our neighbour.
I don't know if it's overreacting to cancel our trip!
What would you do?

How old is she?

Have you washed her now?
That stuff would be hard to just lick off!!!

You could have used a damp cloth to get it off her fur rather than a dry tea towel

Happened to my cat, similar but this was engine oil. I dumped him in the sink, but was worried so took him to our vets who have a shower for animals.
If it was me I would wash her now even tbough its a day later. Maybe ease the worry a bit for you.
Good luck. Hope she's ok
