My beautiful cat died

We took her to the vet as her breathing seemed laboured, she didn't seem in pain just a bit off. Just thought it was worth a check up. She was happy and cuddly before she went, then cried all the way to the vet in the carrier.

At the vets she sort of collapsed and they rushed her in, and then suddenly that was it, she was gone.

She's not coming home 😞 rest well little fur ball you were the best of the best xx

I am very sorry for your loss. I lost my 20 year old cat last August. I still miss her but it gets easier as the months pass and then you're left with all the happy memories x

smurfmonkey · 30/03/2023 22:29

That's such sad news, sorry for your loss.

CatChant · 30/03/2023 22:39

I’m so sorry. There’s no easy way to lose them. Be kind to yourself.

caringcarer · 30/03/2023 22:42

Sorry your cat died, but it sounds quite quick so no long painful drawn out death. I bought one of the photo frames with lots of cut outs and devoted it to my beloved cat that died.

WordtoYoMumma · 30/03/2023 22:46

Thank you all. Just such a shock. I just expected to bring her home again as usual after a vet visit.

Definitely going to look through some photos (I have hundreds 😂) and print off some nice ones.

She had a good life, was a very happy and tolerant cat, the kids would pick her up and cuddle her all the time, she was very loved.

We had her since she was a kitten. Will be very strange without her around.

Thanks for all your kind words

I’m so very sorry. Had similar myself and felt very PTSD for a while after. Be gentle with yourself.

SwishSwishBisch · 30/03/2023 23:41

I’m so sorry, they take a little piece of you with them when they go don’t they 💔

My dad's cat was found dead about two months ago he's still torchured with the thought he suffered ..he was a loving big tom cat with the most beautifullest bushy tail..when we found him he was streached out as if hit by a car and died instantly ..but the thing that is bothering my dad is his tail was missing..we never found it..as this was one his best features and of course part of Mr tibs, that was his name..we don't know why it was missing apart from bit dried blood coming from nose n mouth ..the only other injury we could see was the hole where his tail should have been .plus not a lot blood from where it was missing at..can anybody tell us if the tail was taken after death.which we hope happened as it be so upsetting to know his tail was ripped from him when hit by a car....we presume he was hit by a car? I know we won't ever find out the answer but if anyone could give any suggestions why his tail was gone or even if anyone knows if there would be more blood fir example present if tail was ripped from him prior to dying as I would have thought if it was taken after death there would be not a lot of blood as would if taken when still was alive when the blood still circulates around the body...I am just grasping at ideas as I really could do with any advice ..anything to try put my dad's mind at rest ..Mr tibs was his baby and we miss him so much .. thanks for reading my post xx
