Tick Season has started!

Cleaning the kitchen floor this morning, post cat sick (!), I then found a tick crawling up my arm 😱

So, they are up and early this year. Either it dropped off Arthur, or perhaps even off me yesterday, as I went for a walk across the fields, and sat on a couple of logs. Sigh.

It prompted me to get the Frontline out pretty sharpish and treat him. I have been a bit lax over the winter, so need to get vigilant again.

It wasn't a nymph, just a standard adult. Now trying to resist the urge to do a deep clean. I hate them, I hate them, I hate them.

Yes - found the first one of the year on Karl last week. Took me at least 30 minutes before I remembered where I'd put the sodding tick twister away last time.

Has your vet got any drops to go on your pets necks? Ours can't get hold of any.

I gave up with the vet, they only do a collar for ticks, and Arthur won't stand a collar. So I have been using Frontline Extra, or whatever it is called, and order it direct from Pets Online. Co-incidence maybe, but I used it for the first time last year, and Arthur didn't get any ticks or fleas at all, for the first time ever.

What we've found really odd is that our cats have had no fleas at all since the first Covid lockdown (despite not treating them for fleas at all since then 🙀). Never happened before in nearly 40 years of cat ownership.
