Kitten regurgitating

We have a 15 week old kitten. He came to live with us at 9 weeks old. He vomits/regurgitates a significant amount of food, once or twice a week. We told the vet when we took him to be vaccinated, but the vet just sort of shrugged. The vomiting/regurgitation continues.

We weigh his food carefully. We specially order the exact food he had at his breeder.

I’m concerned and wonder what to do. He seems good in himself, and continues to grow.

Any ideas, or experiences?

Is he eating too quickly?

Can you spread his food over more mealtimes?

We’ve moved to three meals a day. Perhaps more is needed.

4 meals a day until 16 weeks their tummies are tiny. Fewer smaller meals are likely to help, if not go back to the vet.

4 meals it is!

Hi there,

how are you getting on? We are in the same position with a 16 week old and struggling!

live to know where you are at a couple of months in?

thanks

Getting better! A friend explained it was hairballs and we bought some sticky, stinky paste that he sees as a treat which help the hairballs pass through his intestines.

Thanks for letting me know!

Thats very interesting re the hairballs.

My kitten has a very fluffy brother (from another mother) they sleep together at night and also usually in the afternoon. And usually groom each other a little bit - Which might explain our vomiting in the morning and the evening situation… thank you!

No problem, we got it off amazon, just search using “hairball paste“
