Handhold needed, my boy is missing

My jet black boy is missing for 5 weeks. He's been spotted as recently as last Wednesday eating bread put out for birds 😢. I've put flyers into 100 local neighbours letterboxes. Every says they'll let him in and phone my if they see him. He doesn't come when I walk about the area calling him. We can't put out bedding, letter try or hooverbag as we live in a flat (and don't have them anyway (long story).

I'm so worried about him surviving through the cold weather snap.

Does anyone have any insight into this type of situation?

Thanks.

I'm using facebook and nextdoor as well... Posters are in local places too and marked his chip as missing. What else can I do? The uncertainty is agonizing but there have been positive sighting and he's even been miaowing to get in to people's houses, before they knew he was missing.... My heart is breaking.

If he is regularly seen at a particular spot. Could you borrow a trap and get him that way?

BringItOn2023 · 12/03/2023 13:24

Thanks I hadn't thought of that. I'll Google cat traps.

Put up loads of posters in the area where he has been seen. Odds are someone is feeding him and just hasn't realised he is someone's cat (you'd be amazed how many people do this). Posters will hopefully spur someone into calling you while he is there, or to take him into their house and ring you.

Get in touch with any local cat rescues, they may have a trap they can let you borrow

Thanks for the advice. Yes I'll try local cat rescues for advice.

Just to update,- he was found! He was locked in a neighbours outhouse.. for 5 weeks :-(

He's had IV fluids and slowly building his strength up, but by some miracle he's back sleep on my lap!!
