Would it be worthwhile buying a pet cooling mat

Are they any good or did your cat just find some cool tiles to lie on anyway? Just looking now while they are in stock rather than waiting until summer when they are either sold out or inflated prices and there are aesthetically pleasing ones about.

My cat preferred the kitchen tiles🙄

Yeahhhh. I bought 4 last year for all the pets. They wouldn't go near them so I used them all in order to survive!

Surely it's the first rule of cat management that you do not buy anything for the cat because you want it to want to lie/sit/sleep on it. This guarantees that it categorically will not do so.

Think dogs get more use from then than fickle cats but worth a try to keep them cool in heatwaves

I use them mainly in there carrying cases if I'm taking them anywhere and it's hot.

Buy a human one, and tell them sternly they are not allowed to use it...

Dogs loved them. The cats just thought they were a new scratching mat. Tbh, apparently last years heat was only just warm enough for my cats. They sought out the hottest possible spots, preferably once with a gentle hot breeze whilst lying on a thermal blanket.
we just melted in the darkest room in front of ALL the fans.

Get one, they're heaven to lie on! (Obviously your cat will never go near it 🙄)

I got one last year and neither of them are bothered about it. I bought a large paving slab in from the garden and one of them loves to sprawl on it in the hot weather.

My cats hated them - think it was the texture. I liked having it in the heatwave though - used to put it in the freezer for a bit and it was lovely

We got one for our cat during the extremely
hot period last summer. Cat wouldn’t go near it. 🙄

I'm assuming we all find cats are extremely particular about texture, e.g. mine likes a towel really above all else, and we have a long pile rug that she absolutely hates. She is quite fond of a bin bag to lie on as well. DH tried to get her to sleep on a warming mat with a towel over it but she saw straight through that ploy.

My two used it at the cattery, ignored it at home. 🙄

Yes mine uses it in the hot weather!

I bought one for the cat. She didn't use it but I liked to put my feet on it on very hot days so it wasn't a total waste of money

My cat did sit on it when it was hot but he is the school of thought "this is the best thing ever" - for about 2 days.

😀Yeak, bought one for the dog and he preferred the tiles. But I was so impressed with it I bought a king size for the bed!

I would get one only because they're great for yourself I slept on the one I got for the cat

when my cat got too hot I put the mat on my lap and put the cat on top - it was useful to have it

Most of the time I used it more myself than the cats did

My cat ignored it completely then NEEDED it once I sat on it myself

i think they do make a difference. My house gets really hot. They are good to share, lions share to cat of course
