Boys neutered today

I'm hoping someone can give me some advice. My 6 month old boys were neutered today. They are wearing e collars because they keep trying to lick the wound. Usually they sleep in the utility room but I don't want to leave them unattended all night and they've been fighting more than usual since coming home. The veterinary nurse said to put them in their carriers overnight but that would mean removing the collars. Any suggestions what I should do?

I wouldn't personally put them in their cat carriers overnight, what if they need the toilet?

I'm a vet nurse. I've never had to use the cone of shame on any of my cats. I got the twins neutered last year and they never over groomed that area, they washed after having a pee, which is normal. I'd be inclined to take the cones off and keep a close eye on them. I had like one of those pop up playpens but didn't need it in the end.

They'll be teasing each other because they're still full of the anaesthetic and their routine is out of kilter.

yeah, collars seems ott for boys. Mine didn't have them either.
I get reasons why do it for girl cats, but not the fellas.

One is not too bothered but the other one can't leave himself alone! They are used to sleeping in one room so I'm worried what they will get up to if I give them free roam tonight. They don't seem tired at all either!
