My 6 year old strapping boy has had sudden heart failure. We're on holiday and we'd taken him to a cattery. We're on our way to the vets now, leaving our holiday early.

I'm devastated. It's really not looking good. No cardiac specialists available. We usually use a cat sitter, but decided on a cattery this time. I feel so guilty that it may have stressed him and caused this.😭

It's not your fault. Hand hold from me. Heart failure is treatable with medication.

It’s not your fault, I promise.

Thinking of you and your lovely boy x

Our highly strung Bengal survived a cattery, they don’t get that stressed as long as they have food and fuss.

Its just bad luck.

Thank you. Had a stressful transfer to an overnight care place. No cardiologists available for the foreseeable. Signed a DNR 😢. He really didn't look well. Such a contrast to his normal self.

Can he see a cardiologist today?

Thinking of you and hope your boy is on the mend soon

Last night he was more alert and was taken off oxygen. He's been eating today and is now on lifelong medication. We'll need to get him an appointment with a cardiologist asap when one is available, but he'll be home tomorrow! I'm so happy. I really thought we'd lose him. Thank you - the messages of support were much appreciated.

If you are In the vicinity of the East Midlands. There is a fab cardiologist not far from Derby. She covers bits of Staffordshire and Cheshire as well.
