One or two kittens

Hi, I currently have two wonderful Siamese boys that are turning 6 this year. I have just put a deposit down for a little girl who is from the breeder of one of my boys and I am super excited. I am now wondering if I should take a sibling with her? I think it would be nice for my girlie to have a litter mate and kitty the same age as her but wondering if my current boys would find it too much? They still race about playing like kittens themselves (I could watch them all day)
Being truly honest with myself I think I was also very drawn to the other kitten too and found it hard to choose just the one. Anyone have any thoughts/advice?

Two. They can play with each other.

The answer to this question is always 2 (unless it's 3...)

lljkk · 18/02/2023 19:33

do you think your lads will play with the kitten? Only 1 is fine if they will be nice to her.

Jadviga · 18/02/2023 19:34

Two makes sense because they can play with each other rather than overwhelm the other two.

That is IF you are able to manage with 4 cats in your house and the costs that entails.

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 18/02/2023 19:34

I'd say 3....

My boys are lovely and very well bonded but I have no way of knowing how they will react towards a newbie. They are quite full on so the point about suddenly managing four is very valid and a big factor in my decision

Definitely two! But I'm biased as I have 5 Siamese 😺

Also it's v hard to be sure without seeing a photo of your boys...

my max was 6 so I might not be the best person to advise 🤷🏼‍♀️🤣 but I would always have a pair. I also found that the older boys were MUCH more accepting of new kittens than the girls were.

Caaarrrl · 18/02/2023 21:45

Definitely 2. But as I currently have 5 I'm maybe not the best to give advice.

Could I point out that you won't actually have four, you will have two adults and two kids! They will fulfil each others needs. Kittens need kittens and cats need cats. You may very well be doing your boys a favour!

Good point. I don't have 5 kittens. 2 of them are young cats now rather than kittens and the other 3 are grown ups.

Hi I'm just wondering how you got on? Did you end up getting 1 kitten or 2?
