Cat allergy

Has anyone had a cat that developed an allergy to something unknown?

I used to have one who was flea allergic and would go half bald. She looked like she was wearing a t-shirt and no trousers. This was easily cured by keeping on top of flea treatment.

My current cat however…over the last couple of months, she’s been scratching a lot more than normal and she has random scabs appear on her body.

I’ve flea’d her but she definitely has no fleas.

I’ve now ordered an allergy medication for cats to see if that would help

My parents cat had this, I'm not sure if they ever found out what the allergy is to. I'll see if I can find out what treatment he had. Probably steroids. Though I wonder if there was a dress element to it. He is a VERY highly strung beast!

Luckily, I don’t think it’s severe enough to require steroids but let’s see how this new treatment goes. It arrives tomorrow

Well, the stuff arrived and it said I can put two drops on to her food. I did that since I didn’t want to risk my limbs putting it directly into her mouth.

She refused to eat her food, which isn’t unlike her anyway, but still.

So I got some lick-e-lix, put half on a plate and added two drops. She wolfed it down

Will now give her half a sachet every day with two drops to see if it helps

Thought I would update. Been 3 doses worth and I think it’s working. She’s not scratching herself nearly as much, as most of her scabbies have come away and no new ones appeared. So I’m happy

@Soubriquet I started allergy treatment on my cat yesterday (allergy aid), 🤞it works.

We are using the same stuff!! Orange label?

Seems to be working nicely

@Soubriquet Yes, same stuff. I feel sorry for him, I wipe his eyes with warm water to help him. He has already been on two courses of steroids, trying to avoid this.

Glad it is working on your cat 😀

Hello, was going to try this on my kitty. Did it work for your cat in the long term? Thanks
