What does your cat love to keep it entertained??

Just looking for extra ideas to entertain my kitten please. She is booked in to be spayed at the end of march so will be an indoor kitten until then and don't want her getting bored. She loves her spinning butterfly and wiggly worm kong thing. Also scratching post, pom poms and fluff thing on a stick. She isn't interested in flashing lights or toys that don't really move. Oh and she likes a cardboard box to explore. Anything else I can do to keep her busy?? Any toy recommendations? Thanks

Mollie's Mice. They don't move but cats love the catnip in them and even my lazy lump likes to wrestle with them.
Your kitty is gorgeous!

I got my cat a Da Bird. He loves it, hours of fun for him, it’s especially good if you want to pretend you are conducting an orchestra.

Almost every toy I have ever bought my cats over the years has been at most, sniffed, batted about for less than five minutes, and the abandoned, only to turn up months later behind the couch, or to be tripped on whilst walking down the stairs in the dark.

The two most successful have been interactive toys- a laser pointer and a feathery thing on a stick an piece of elastic. But they are often equally amused
by things that they find themselves- empty thread bobbins, twisty ties from cables of new electrical goods, cotton buds stolen brim the bathroom bin etc. Of course the most satisfying for them are the things that you are actually using at the time- like a ball of wool whilst knitting, or the duvet cover whilst making the bed. They’re jackpot.

My elderly cat just wants to sit on my knee and be stroked all day. She comes to find me if I disappear and pats my knee continuously until I let her sit on my lap and then she pats me again if I'm not stroking her.
The year old cat only wants to be entertained by the elderly cat and goads her until she gives chase and then all hell is let loose.
Between goading the old cat and sleeping she likes to chase empty toilet tolls and do parkour round the house and up trees.
Its exhausting.

Anything not intended for the purpose of feline entertainment😀

Last night it was the foil cup from an individual apple pie, which my husband had left on the coffee table. That was my cats' evening sorted!

Yeah she does find things to entertain herself, mostly bits of rubbish she finds!! She doesn't seem at all interested in catnip but I read it only effects them when they are a bit older??

Ribbons - had three lots from packaging that were quite varied from light to more structured. Many games of stalk the ribbons, pounce on the ribbons, wrap self in the ribbons, wrestle with the ribbons, kill the ribbons. Occasionally drape one over a drawer or door handle to add a surprise. Have outlived many expensive toys.

Also, ping pong balls - who knew he had the dribbling skills of Renaldo ? Equally, lightly scrunched up piece of foil, about the same size and shape as a ping pong ball.

BlueKaftan · 25/01/2023 12:49

Mine enjoys ear buds and empty toilet rolls. She will also chase her banana cat nip toy

highdrylowerwetter · 25/01/2023 12:52

Any paper bag (we cut through the handles always though after our kitten almost strangled herself with one) is an instant hit
Same with shoeboxes
Wrapping paper on birthdays/Xmas
Shoelaces but I don't leave them unattended
Some beads we usually hang on the Xmas tree (same re unattended)
Laser pens
Kitten bubbles used to be good fun, haven't bought them in a while though
A few select pets at home toys but who's to know what she will take a shine to, it seems very random
Feathers
Ice cubes on the kitchen floor
Another favourite activity as kittens was sitting in the conservatory incessantly jumping up on the windows as the leaves from blew around the garden (autumn only, sadly!)

Ping pong ball in empty bath 😬

DomesticShortHair · 25/01/2023 12:56

Bogiesaremyonlyfriend · 25/01/2023 12:56

Ahh yes bubbles! I'd forgotten about those. Just had a few mins of fun with those!! Some very cute chirruping at them!

Well, hello Jellybean! The best ‘toy’ anyway is someone who gives her love, care and attention, and she’s already got that.

helpfulperson · 25/01/2023 13:12

YouTube. Search for cats TV. Keeps my pair entertained for hours. Or the snooker works quite well.

She is extremely well loved and I'm hoping she is well cared for, certainly trying my best!! She is very cuddly and loving but does enjoy a bit of hand biting which we are trying to get her out of.

There is a cat app she likes to have a look at with moving bugs and things. She isn't so interested in cat TV yet though. Maybe I need to show her the snooker!
